Did You Hear?
A downloadable tabletop roleplay game
Did you hear Unknown Dungeon is hosting a One Page RPG jam? Well, did you hear I created a submission just for this jam's theme?
Did you hear this RPG fits on one sheet of paper?!
Did You Hear? is a GM-less rumor-milling roleplay exercise for 4-6 players submitted to the One Page RPG jam hosted by Unknown Dungeon. Players are tasked with creating simple characters that adhere to a shared theme, then spreading rumors about each other's characters until at least 3 players are entrenched in scandal. Intended as a beginner-friendly roleplay exercise, the challenge is to walk the balance between totally winging it without metagaming while committing to staying in character. This game is best for introducing newbies to your tabletop RPG group, or just practicing your roleplay skills between sessions or campaigns.
That's right! My first-ever jam submission on itch! The theme was rumors and secrets, so I chose to create a one-page RPG about spreading rumors and gossiping. I was inspired by improv games and roleplay-heavy, mechanics-lite RPGs I've played in the past. My goal was to create something simple that could be played as an introductory RPG for complete beginners - and I figured since roleplay is like improv, why not draw inspiration from games where you have to "yes, and" your partners all the time?
